He was predeceased by: his parents, EJ Ellis and Hazel Ellis; his wife BJ; and his son Bob. He is survived by: his daughters, Sandy (Rick Burgsteiner) and Cathy; his granddaughters, Angela (Dennis Reeder) and Melissa (Ben Ellison); his great grandchildren, Isaac Reeder and Charlotte Jane Ellison; and his caregivers, Katrina Chatman, Denise Davidson and Oakmont. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the State Street United Methodist Church (650 Valley Dr, Bristol, VA 24201). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Holston Conference Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to State Street United Methodist Church or The Salvation Army of Bristol.
