He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther Leonard and Anna Sproles Leonard; his son James Allen Leonard; and his siblings, James, Bruce, Bobby, Wilburn Leonard, Betty Bott and Nancy DeFriece.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Sue Vestal Leonard; his children, Luther "Luke" Leonard (Teresa) of Blountville, Tenn. and Penny Helton (Mike) of Bristol; his grandchildren, Robert Leonard, Sanatana Holbrook, Sam Leonard (Courtney), David Leonard (Erin), Cas Helton, Corey Helton and Ashley Cox; his great grandchildren, Tori Leonard, Alex Hoyle, Grayson Holbrook and Destiny Leonard; his sisters, Shirley Poore, Barbara Hooker (Tyson) and Wanda Reitelbach (Pat); and his siblings-in-law, Sherry Leonard, Joyce Leonard, Martha Williams and Johnny Vestal (Linda).
A graveside service was held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Forest Hills Memory Gardens (19415 Lee Hwy, Abingdon, VA 24210).
