He is survived by: his daughter Sadie Thews (Roger); his grandson Beckett; his son Samuel Dunaway of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his aunt Martha Jones; Vivian Simon of Glade Spring, Virginia. He is also survived by many cousins and dear friends.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 11th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Mountain View Cemetery (1019 Valley Dr, Bristol, VA 24201). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, November 12th 2026 at 6:30 PM at the Legacy Church (2150 W Ridge Rd, Wytheville, VA 24382).
