It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Velma Catherine Turner of Broadway, Virginia, who passed away on October 11, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Amos and Stella Grace Fitzwater Simmers; her husband Virgil Turner; and her siblings, Lawrence, Nelson, Carroll Simmers, Kathleen Whetzel, Arlene Kile and Beverly Simmers.
She is survived by: her children, Ronnie Turner of Broadway, Loretta Turner of Broadway, Gail Griffith (Mike) of Timberville and Jennifer Turner (Roe) of Timberville; her grandson Wes Turner of Linville; her great grandchild Wesley Turner of Broadway; her niece Elaine Sacra; her close friend Stephanie Fittry; and her pet Katy.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Grandle Funeral Home (148 E Lee St, Broadway, VA 22815). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Of the Brethren Cemetery (11374 Phillips Store Rd, Broadway, VA 22815).
