He is survived by: his wife Robin Whitmore of Harrisonburg; his children, Colin Whitmore (Emily) of Reston and Lauren Whitmore of Richmond, Virginia.; his stepchildren, Adam Goble (Kathy) of Bridgewater, Elizabeth Goble of Bridgewater, Chris Vogelsang (Jenny) of Fishers and Jeff Vogelsang (Johanne) of New York; his grandchildren, Amelia Whitmore of Reston and Chandler Thompson of Richmond Virginia; his stepgrandchildren, Aedan Goble of Bridgewater, Emma Goble of Bridgewater, Annie and Hudson Vogelsang of Fishers, Indiana.; and his sister Alice Ann Blevins (Kirby) of Martinsville, Virginia..
