He is survived by: his wife Riggie Clay of Brodnax; his children, Scot Crutchfield of Brodnax, Dean Crutchfield (Loretta) of Chase City and Donna Simpson of South Hill; his grandchildren, Amanda Crutchfield and Zachary Simpson; his brother Clarence Clay of Bracey; his nephew Kevin Clay; and his siblings-in-law, Glenna Clay and Mike Maxey.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory (1504 N Mecklenburg Ave, South Hill, VA 23970). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at the Oakwood Cemetery.
