He is survived by: his significant other Julie Gwaltney; his children, Brooklyn Mitchell and Zeb Mitchell (Lexus Long); his stepson Jacob Gwaltney of Brodnax, Virginia; his brothers, Randy Mitchell (Kathy) of Roanoke Rapids and Alan Mitchell (Susan) of Roanoke Rapids; his sister-in-law Wanda Fowler Mitchell of Chester, Virginia; and his nieces and nephews, Lisa Mitchell, Shamron Mitchell, Jennifer Henderson, Michael Mitchell, Jonathan Mitchell, Chris Mitchell, Josh Mitchell, Victor Mitchell and Tuddy Mitchell.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 4th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services (731 Roanoke Ave, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870).
