He was predeceased by: his father Allen W. McElroy. He is survived by: his wife Dianne Strickland McElroy; his mother Nancy McGhee McElroy; his children, Kimberly Carwile (Justin) and Bryan Coats (Melissa); his grandson William Coats; his siblings, Vince McElroy (Shelia), Bruce McElroy and Kelly McElroy; and his cousin Tommy McElroy (Joyce).
