He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Jean Somers Hines; his parents, William Bryan Hines and Ruth Oliver Hines; and his siblings, Rebecca Bowling, Jean Morris, Yancey Hines, William Hines, Jr., Sidney Hines and Earl Hines.
He is survived by: his daughters, Denise Hines of Henrico and Lisa Lamberth of Maryland; his grandsons, Michael Lamberth of Fredricksburg and Nicholas Lamberth of Maryland; and his sisters, Elizabeth Scott, Helen Talbert and Sara Martin. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Henderson Funeral Home (221 Old Main St, Brookneal, VA 24528). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Brookneal Presbyterian Church (331 Lynchburg Ave, Brookneal, VA 24528).
