With sadness, we share the passing of Reginald Lester Smith of Brookneal, Virginia. Reginald, born on September 1, 1953, passed away on October 28, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Judd Smith and Hilda Dodd Smith; and his brother Jeffrey Hudson Smith. He is survived by: his wife Sheila Massey Smith; his daughters, Kirstin Sterling Smith of Brookneal and Hannah Joy Smith of Brookneal; his sister Trish Conroy (Paul) of Lynchburg; his niece Whitney Chancellor (Kyle) of Salem; his nephews, Patrick Conroy (Lauren) of Richmond and Brandon Conroy of Starbase, TX; and his great-nephews, Liam and Bennett Chancellor.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Union Hill Baptist Church (12935 Red House Rd, Brookneal, VA 24528). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Brookneal Fire Department or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
