He is survived by: his son Billy James Prater II of Grundy, VA; his close friends, Mary Justus and Ariel Faith Ratliff; and his sister Reva Prater of Lebanon, VA.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel (22208 Riverside Dr, Grundy, VA 24614). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Mountain Valley Memorial Park (32350 Riverside Dr, Big Rock, VA 24603).
