In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Bobby leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though Bobby may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Matney and Ocie Matney (Hogston); and his siblings, Robbie Matney and Liz Matney Justus. He is survived by: his wife Mary Lucille Matney (Stiltner) of Oakwood, VA; his daughter Rene Branson of Abingdon, VA; his grandchildren, Cole Quesenberry and Kendall Branson of Abingdon, VA.; and his nephew Tyler Justus. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Grundy Funeral Home (22208 Riverside Dr, Grundy, VA 24614). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 at the Matney Family Cemetery.
