It is with sadness that the passing of Barbara Jane Tolbert of Buckingham, Virginia is shared. Barbara Jane, born on October 14, 1938, passed away on September 10, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Ernest Grubbs; and her siblings, Shirley Moore, Richard Grubbs, Lyle Grubbs and Roger Grubbs.
She is survived by: her mother Naomi Grubbs; her husband Bernard Tolbert; her daughter Sheila McLean; her son-in-law John Norman McLean of Charlottesville, VA; her brother-in-law Robert Moore of Forest, VA; her nieces, Rhonda Moore and Cindy Hazelwood; her sister-in-law Helen Talbert of Dillwyn, VA; her nephew Allen Talbert; and her caregiver Loreen Johnson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church (2490 Chestnut Grove Church Rd, Appomattox, VA 24522). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
