The memory of Gerard Schratz of Burke, Virginia, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on April 16, 2024 at the age of 72, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by : his parents, Vincent Schratz and Rita Schratz (Gross); and his brother Paul Schratz. He is survived by : his spouse Leslie Hickman; his sisters, Rita Murphy (Patrick) and Ann Hoyson (late Gregory); his siblings-in-law, Robert Hickman, Catherine Vitaletti (Bill) and Charles Hickman; and his nieces and nephews, Sean Martin, Dr. Mitchell Hoyson (Sarah Minney), Dr. Katherine Baeder (Dan), Elizabeth Tobay (Jason), Dominic Hickman, Ava Hickman, Mia Hickman and Jillian Hickman. He is also survived by two nephews and 2 nieces; and numerous cousins.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jefferson Funeral Chapel (5755 Castlewellan Dr, Alexandria, VA 22315). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Raymond of Peñafort (8750 Pohick Rd, Springfield, VA 22153). A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Fairfax Memorial Park Cemetery (4401 Burke Station Rd, Fairfax, VA 22032).
