It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lillian Russell Goodrich Newcomb of Burkeville, Virginia, who passed away on November 29, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father James Goodrich; her husband William R. "Billy" Newcomb; her son Michael Newcomb; her grandson Blake Newcomb; and her siblings, Teddy, Henry, Robert, James S. Goodrich, Sarah Vaughan, Margaret Buffkin, Peggy Newcomb, Jeanette Goodrich, Fannie Goodrich and Daisy White.
She is survived by: her mother Carrie Goodrich; her children, Stephanie Newcomb Fowlkes (Alton) and Steve Newcomb; her grandchildren, Ryan Newcomb (Morgan), Hunter Fowlkes, Kaylee Newcomb (Nick) and Maddie Fowlkes; her great grandchildren, Nolan, Miles, Wyatt, Leo and Asher; and her sister Clarece Canaday. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Cool Springs Christian Church (2852 Ontario Rd, Keysville, VA 23947). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
