He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry J. Millward, Sr. and Virginia Ruth Millward; and his brother Thomas A. Millward. He is survived by: his wife Betty Garner Millward; his children, Diana Spencer (William), Craig Millward (Alexandra Luden), Erin Rohrer (Dennis) and Glenn Millward (Amanda); his stepchildren, Richie Crabbe (Stephanie) and Jeffrey Crabbe; his brothers, Randy L. Millward (Carolyn) and Michael J. Millward (Kelly); and his grandchildren, Caden Jones, Gideon, Vivian Millward, Hunter and Lillian Millward. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Henderson United Methodist Church Cemetery (72 Henderson Dr, Callao, VA 22435). A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at the Henderson U. M. C. Cemetery (72 Henderson Dr, Callao, VA 22435).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Hank's memory to the Northumberland High School JROTC Booster Club, 201 Academic Lane, Heathsville, VA 22473—a cause close to his heart and a reflection of his lasting impact. Hank Millward will be remembered not only for his service to his country and his contributions to education, but also for his compassion, kindness, and the deep love he shared with his family and community.
