He was predeceased by: his wife Antoinette Alessi Lewis; his parents, Marsh Lewis and Lamont Luttrell Lewis; his siblings, Johnny Lewis, Melvin Lewis, Joseph Lewis and Jennings Lewis; and his son-in-law David O'Connell.
He is survived by: his siblings, Cecelia Lewis, Thressa Lewis, Margaret Ann Lewis, Everett Lewis of Lara, Calvin Lewis (Judy) of Callao and David Lewis (Nancy) of Toms River, NJ; his daughters, Kathleen Cochran (Michael) of Williamsburg and Susan Lewis of Callao; his grandchildren, Joshua O'Connell (Marina) of Sterling, Rebekah Morrison (Alexander) of Toano and Lily Lewis of Callao; and his great grandchildren, Emalyn, Owen O'Connell of Sterling, Jackson and Dean Morrison of Toano. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and loving extended family.
