He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Writt and Viola Writt; his siblings, Charles Writt Jr., Dorothy Stottlemeyer, Pearl Mood, Josephine Keats and Isabel Tomlin; and his stepchildren, Elwood Leary and Victoria Brant.
He is survived by: his wife Orquidea; his daughter Sundae Meyer; and his stepdaughter Patty Timm (Marshall). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Cheriton Baptist Church (21290 N Bayside Rd, Cape Charles, VA 23310).
