She was predeceased by: her parents, Rachel Marlin, and Robert Marlin, Sr.; her brothers, Duke Lee and Larry Marlin; and her sister-in-law Aileen Marlin.

She is survived by: her husband E. Larry Thompson; her daughters, Stephanie T. Trejo and Julie T. Nguyen (Chi); her grandchildren, Jacob (Charlotte), Gracie, Michael, Kathryn and Caleb; her great grandchild Emilia; her siblings, Elaine Morgan (Donald) and Bob Marlin; and her sister-in-law Bridget Marlin. She is also survived by her daughters, grandchildren, sister and brother, and nieces and nephews.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy to take the form of contributions to the Art classes taught at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School in Newport News and Smithfield Public Schools.
