She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Hairston, Sr. and Margaret Carter Hairston; her husband George Eddie Strange Jr.; her daughter Jennifer Strange Walden; her siblings, Walter Hairston Sr., Daniel Irvin Hairston, Mozella Hairston, Jerry Winston Hairston, Betty Irene Thompson, George Dillard Hairston, Yvonne Lucertia Hairston, Melvin Benjamin Hairston and Pearline Hairston; and her great grandchild Christian Pool.
She is survived by: her children, Joel Strange of Decatur, Patricia Strange Poteat (William) of Cascade, Regenna Strange London (Warren) of Cascade, Virginia and Wanda Strange Jackson of Decatur, Georgia; and her siblings-in-law, Rita Hairston of Eden, Charlotte Wilkerson of Eden, Edith Hairston of Maryland and Frank Strange of Charlotte. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and her one great-great-granddaughter; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, and many cherished friends.
