With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Gene Hairston of Cascade, Virginia, who passed away on October 1, 2025 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elder Robert Lee Hairston and Doretha Adams Hairston; his daughter LaRhonda Faye Hairston; and his siblings, Cynthia Hairston and Jerry Hairston.
He is survived by: his wife Bernice Stockton Hairston; his daughters, Toni Raleen Gravely (Bishop Jeffrey) of Eden, NC and Lori Jean Strange (Deandre) of Fayetteville, NC; his granddaughter Nia Strange; and his siblings, Lucy Hubbard of Cascade, VA, Malinda Hairston of Cascade, VA, Dorothy Price of Cascade, VA, Quezella Hairston of Cascade, VA, Charles Hairston, Lawrence Hairston (Joan) and Harold Hairston.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home (707 Wilson St, Danville, VA 24541). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Assembly Chapel Progressive Primitive Baptist Church (5453 Cascade Rd, Cascade, VA 24069).
