She was predeceased by: her parents, James Thomas and Elizabeth Catherine Hawkins; her husband James "Jimmy" Harrison Hitt; her sons, James Stuart Hitt and Michael Alan Hitt; and her siblings, Josephine Pickett, Pauline Grigsby, Mary Knicely, James Thomas Hawkins Jr., Charles "Charlie" Davis Hawkins and William "Billy" Russell Hawkins.
She is survived by: her daughter Lisa Releford (Jim); her grandchildren, Holly Hitt, Corey Releford and Jeremy "Luke" Lucas Releford; her great grandchildren, Cameron, Leah and Bryson; and her sisters, Hazel Haines and Lois Alther.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Found and Sons Funeral Chapels & Cremation Service (850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at the Hillcrest Memory Gardens (4160 Rixeyville Rd, Jeffersonton, VA 22724).
