He was predeceased by: his parents, James Albert Surber and Nell Porter Peery Surber; his wife Patty Love Surber; his son James Kenneth Surber, Jr. (Kenny); and his brothers, Robert Allen Surber (Bob) and William George Surber (Bill).
He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Julia Surber; his grandchildren, Adam Surber and Rebecca Surber (Eric); his great grandchildren, Pierce Richardson and Aftyn Richardson; and his sister Carol Ann Stillwell (Curtis). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many friends.
In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
