He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Albert and Edith Ruth Herndon Calhoun; his great-grandparent Tabitha Feezell; and his brothers, Robert Calhoun, George Calhoun and James Calhoun.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Calhoun; his children, Phyllis Elam (Mike) of Castlewood, Regina Calhoun (Greg Duty) of Castlewood, Rebecca Calhoun (Darrell Cox) of Wise, Virginia, Kenneth Calhoun (Fay) of Castlewood and Jerry Calhoun (Tammy) of Abingdon, Virginia; and his siblings, Jean Eidson of Church Hill, Freda Colgate of Kingsport, Tennessee and Millard Calhoun (Cheri) of Sevierville, Tennessee. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Castlewood Funeral Home (80 Donnie Dean Dr, Castlewood, VA 24224). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel (80 Donnie Dean Dr, Castlewood, VA 24224). A burial was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 at the Temple Hill Memorial Park (2529 Memorial Dr, Castlewood, VA 24224).
