He is survived by: his wife Nannie Lou Boyd Shelton; his daughter Glenda Gay Carter (Tony) of Paintlick; his grandson Austin Carter (Megan) of Abingdon, VA; his great grandchildren, Everly and Kayden Carter; and his sisters, Marie Byrd of North Carolina, Patricia Norman (Jimmy) of Texas and Earline Reynolds of Swords Creek, VA..
