With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Avada Sparks (Cedar Bluff, Virginia), who passed away on July 17, 2025 at the age of 55. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Dorsey Lee Whitt and Ola Gay Steele Whitt; her son Stephen Porterfield; and her grandson Samuel Colt Porterfield. She is survived by: her son Scotty Porterfield (Genny); her grandchildren, James Etter, Payton Porterfield, Levi Porterfield and Fayln Porterfield; and her siblings, Jack Whitt, Jeff Whitt, Aretta Beavers, Samantha Whitt, Melissa Whitt, Margo Dunlap and Dedria Whitt. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
