He was predeceased by : his parents, Howard Pruitt and Rosella Hagerman Pruitt; his daughter Evon Pruitt Williams; his granddaughter Ashley Danielle Shortridge; his siblings, Curtis Leon Pruitt, Delmer Pruitt, Elmer Pruitt (Bud), Thelma Justice, Wanda McGlothin and Joy Rampley; and his former life partner Donna T Pruitt.

He is survived by : his children, Penny Lynn Cook (Kerry Drake Helton) of Raven and Stephen Scott Pruitt of Claypool Hill; his grandchildren, Justin Scott Collins (Paige Lowe), Ryan Houston Williams, Morgann Brittany Williams, Andrew Arthur, Caleb Collins, Mollie Lorine LeeAnn Collins and Madison Beth Cook; and his great grandchildren, Brodie Dylan Collins, Payton McKinley Collins, Berklei Autumn Collins, Piper Neely and Kole Rees.
