He was predeceased by: his father Allen Gross; his wife Mary Lillian Ball Gross; and his son King Edward Gross of Wardell, VA. He is survived by: his children, Prentis Gross of Craigsville, VA, Michael Gross (Cindy) of Doran, VA, J. C. Gross (Amanda) of Wardell, VA, Gary Gross (Judy) of Claypool Hill, VA, Donna Plaster (Dickie) of Cedar Bluff, VA and Wanda Kay Robinson (Andrew) of Charleston, IL. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Legacy Hospice.
