Nelson; his wife Harriett Sue Puckett Barnett; his children, Russell Daniel Barnett, Jr. (Jessica), Tonya Delora Tester (Toby) and Teresa Ann Barnett Holly (Dave); his siblings, Sparkle Bonds, Sammy Barnett (Connie), Woodrow "Woody" Barnett (Lynn) and Gary "Rocky" Barnett (Joyce); his cousins, Lorrine Altizer and Lucille Altizer; his grandchildren, Daniella (Jeff), Rachel, Tim, Nick, Anthony, Gage and Olivia; and his pet Polly Anna. He is also survived by the love of his life and faithful companion.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Scott Funeral Home of Tazewell (870 W Main St, Tazewell, VA 24651). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
