He was predeceased by: his parents, Adelbert "Del" Schmidt and Catherine "Kitty" Schmidt; his brother Louis Schmidt; his brother-in-law Donald Scott; and his son-in-law Richard Loucks.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Joan Scott; and his children, Victoria Marie Loucks and Jonathan Scott Schmidt (Barbara). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at 5856 Old Centreville Rd, Centreville, VA 20121.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to the American Heart Association or the Centreville Volunteer Fire Department.
