She was predeceased by: her husband Lester Bennefeld; and her parents, Charles Conklin and Mildred Conklin. She is survived by: her daughter Claire Leeper (Shannon); her grandsons, William and Thomas Leeper; her sisters, Amy Pettigrew of Naples and Clara Crockatt of Norwich, England; and her friends, Leigh Kloss and Sylvia McKay.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Bridgewater Retirement Center (302 N 2nd St, Bridgewater, VA 22812).
