It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald Allison Herring of Charlottesville, Virginia, who passed away on August 30, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Benjamin Franklin Herring; and his brother Lloyd Herring. He is survived by: his sister Alice Straley; his children, Kim Rutland (Barry) of Harrisonburg and Chris Herring (Cassie) of Charlottesville; his grandchildren, Kylie Herring, Miley Herring, Ally Rutland and Emily Rutland Marion; and his great grandchild Blythe Norman.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to Spring Hill Baptist Church at 2620 Frays Mill Rd, Ruckersville, VA 22968 or The Alzheimer's Association.
