With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Joan Mary Dewson (Charlottesville, Virginia), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Though Joan Mary may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Joan Mary touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edgar S. Nugent, Jr. and Mary Simonka Nugent; and her husband Richard L. Dewson. She is survived by: her daughters, Deborah Yost, Tamarah Cheek (Doug Cheek), Laura Purvis (Lawrence "Buddy" Purvis) and Donna Deitsch (David Deitsch); Carol Carey and Robert Dewson.
