He was predeceased by : his wife Sharon T. George; his parents, Larry Sr. George and Dorothy George (Cooper); and his sister Loretta Raymond. He is survived by : his children, Derrick E. George (LaToya), Philip E. George (Katia) and Lorie Y. George; his grandchildren, Branden M. George, Cameron A. George, Amari O. George and Amelle S. George; his brother Benjamin L. George; and his niece Anna G. Conyers.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bliley's Staples Mill Chapel. A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Holly Memorial Gardens (3521 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville, VA 22911).
