She is survived by: her children, Dan Forrest Via (Susan), Louise, Bernice, Margaret, Charlie Jr., Chris and Carter Via; her grandchildren, Forrest, Joseph, Nathan and Rebecca; and her brother Chris Bateman.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Paul's Memorial Church (1701 University Ave, Charlottesville, VA 22903).
In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made to Crossing Thresholds (crossingthresholds.org).
