She was predeceased by: her parents, George Harvey Shifflett and Nelie Florence Shifflett; her husband Rodney Thomas; and her siblings, Bulah Sprouse, Chellie Polonitza, Ruby Scruggs, Thelma Widener, Ferrell Shifflett, Edward Shifflett, Randel Shiflett and Sherman Shifflett.

She is survived by: her siblings, Linda Shifflett and Ralph Shiflett; her children, Rod Thomas (Megan) and Ashley Loftis (Christopher); her grandchildren, Reed Slocum, Elyse Bentley (Cole), Anders Thompson, Aidan Thompson, Makala Thomas, Madi Thomas, Alden Thompson and Alex Thompson; and her great grandchildren, Farrah Bentley, Oaklynn Bentley, Karter Thomas and Layne Townsend. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
