He was predeceased by: his parents, Newton Walker Thomas and Wilma Chalker Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Marilu James Thomas; his daughters, Kristin Thomas Sancken and Carolyn "Callie" Cheever; and his sister Carolyn Thomas Vale. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
