She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Brennan and Captain John Allen Root; her husband Harry B. James; and her sisters, Jane R. Nichols and Mary Catherine Cox.
She is survived by: her children, Mary J. Wright, John F. and Robert A. James; her grandsons, Christopher, Keith Wright, Russell and Brennan James; her stepgrandchildren, David Gilmore and Heather Gilmore; her great grandchildren, Virginia, Sparrow, Jessalyn Wright, Dylan and Nolan James; and her stepgreat-granddaughter Gracie Parrish.
