He is survived by: his children, Sepelda Carr Jemeson (Neil) of Maryland and Wendell Lewis Carr of Charlottesville, VA.; his sisters, Blanche Gatewood, Gloria Byrd and Ida Poindexter; and his grandchildren, Whitney, Kieron, Kendell and Wendell II. He is also survived by five great grandchildren; and many family and friends.
Viewing will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the J. F. Bell Funeral Home (108 6th St NW, Charlottesville, VA 22903). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mount Zion First African Baptist Church (105 Lankford Ave, Charlottesville, VA 22902).
