With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David Barnes of Chase City, Virginia, who passed away on October 23, 2020 at the age of 74. He was predeceased by: his parents, Reathie Howard and Alice Marie Crawley Barnes; and his siblings, Christine Carden, George, Howard and Garland Barnes.

He is survived by: his wife Helen Harris Barnes of Chase City, VA; his children, Anthony Barnes of Richmond, VA, Vince Barnes of Chesterfield, VA, Nikki Barnes of Drakes Branch, VA, Kisha Barnes of Chase City, VA and Lisha Barnes of Chase City, VA; and his sisters, Malvia Keys (Thomas) of Chester, VA, Annie Hamlett of Chesapeake, VA, Catherine Rainey of Chase City, VA and Geraldine Wilson (Vernon) of Boydton, VA. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.

Due to Covid-19, seating will be limited, a mask will be required for services, and we ask that you practice social distancing.

I also was always impressed with his knowledge and problem solving ability. I used to always look for him when we would come back to Chase City; sometimes I was lucky enough to find him and have a nice talk. Always made my day. I know he will be sorely missed.”””
