He is survived by: his wife Barbara Smithson; his children, Marvin Dodd (Christie), Lamont Dodd of Chase City, VA and Vanessa Haskins (Keith) of Chase City, VA; his brother Carnell Smithson, Sr. (Mattie) of Chase City, VA; his sisters-in-law, Brenda Downey (Arthur) of Clarksville, VA and LaVerne Keene of Richmond, VA; his niece Joyce Thomas of Chase City, VA; and his friends, Ronnie and Pat Thompson of Hopewell, VA. He is also survived by six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
