James Weldon Boyd Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 22, 2025, at the age of 84, James Weldon Boyd of Chase City, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathaniel Boyd and Lillie Fowlkes Boyd; his son Alvin James Boyd; and his siblings, Adam Tyree Boyd, Evealean Boyd, Florence Hargrove, Mataw Boyd and Curtis Thomas Boyd.
He is survived by: his children, Madeline Moamin (Faison) and David Boyd; his siblings, Nathaniel Boyd (Louise) and Christine Jackson (James); and his sister-in-law Gail Boyd. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home (1304 N Main St, Chase City, VA 23924). A burial was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at the Boyd Family Cemetery.
