He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Smith, Sr. and Lillie Byrd Smith; and his siblings, Ophelia Daniel, Sharon Dodd, Paul Smith and Silas Smith.
He is survived by: his siblings, Daisy Pettus, Regina Smith of Red Oak, VA, Teresea Pettus (Quincy) of Boydton, VA, Walter Smith, Jr. (Joann) and Chester Smith (Jackie) of Red Oak, Virginia. He is also survived by other loving relatives and caring friends.
Viewing was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Giles-Harris Funeral Home and Cremation Service (1304 N Main St, Chase City, VA 23924).
