She was predeceased by: her father William Pruitt; her husband Leonard Woody Oakes; her daughter Nancy Oakes; her son-in-law Philip Reid Holley; and her brothers, Howard Pruitt and Calvin Pruitt.
She is survived by: her mother Susie Belle Pruitt; her daughters, Angela Oakes Holley, Jenny Oakes Adkins (Mike), Donna Oakes, Janet Oakes Wolfe (Travis), Robin Oakes Blankenship (Jeff) and Wendy Oakes Thornton (Larry); her grandchildren, Misty Holley VanZyl (Casper), Joshua Adkins, Colby Hammock (Hannah), Casey Hammock Thorn (Ben), Chloe Hammock and Callie Hammock; and her great grandchildren, Gabriel Johnson, Jed Hammock, Cullen Hammock, Gannon Hammock, Hadleigh Hammock and Elise Thorn.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Oak Ridge Christian Church (1181 Museville Rd, Chatham, VA 24531). A funeral service was held on Sunday, August 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request monetary donations be made to Donna Oakes for the upkeep of the Hayden-Reynolds-Oakes Family Cemetery.
