He was predeceased by : his parents, Hugh Thomas Mitchell and Frances Amos Mitchell; and his sister Elizabeth Mitchell Inge. He is survived by : his daughter Lisa Ann Mitchell Shorter; his granddaughter Dr. Victoria Sutphin (Andrew); his brothers, Hugh Thomas Mitchell, Jr. (Sandy), Roger Lee Mitchell and George Leon Mitchell; his nephews, Thomas Scott Mitchell, John Brandon Mitchell, Christian Lee Mitchell and Thomas Logan Mitchell; his niece Machelle M. Myers; his great-niece Lauren Myers; and his brother-in-law John Richard Inge.
