It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rosetta Betts Tarpley in Chatham, Virginia, who passed away on March 3, 2026, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John E. Betts Sr. and Aline Cole Betts; her husband John Edward Tarpley; her son Leon Betts; and her brothers, John Betts Jr. and Roosevelt Betts.
She is survived by: her adoptive daughter Christina Carter Tarpley of Greensboro, NC; her stepson Kevin Neal Williams of Danville, VA; her grandchildren, Telvis D. Betts, Tyrese Betts, Adrain Carter and Tamika Adkins; her daughter-in-law Sheila Wooding Betts; and her nieces, Carolyn Fisher, Martha Humpfree and Patrica Taylor. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
