She was predeceased by: her parents, William Emory Ewell and Lillian Virginia Upton Ewell; her husband Roger Carlyle Spencer; and her siblings, Betty Jean Pangle, Shirley Christenson, Elsie Mae Tiedeman and William Emory Ewell, Jr..

She is survived by: her children, Sherrie Davis (David) of Chesapeake, Larry Franklin Marshall, Jr. of North Carolina and Linda Smith of Virginia Beach; her brother Joseph Ewell; her grandchildren, Adam, Andrew, Austin Davis, James and Katie Smith; and her great grandchildren, Pasley and Adeline Smith.
