With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Avery James Ward (Chesapeake, Virginia), born in Norfolk, Virginia, who passed away on October 20, 2023 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Avery Joseph and Lillian Billups Ward; his wife Mary Jo Ward; and his siblings, Robert Michael Ward, Lee Allen Ward and Beverly Jean Ward.
He is survived by: his sons, Robert, Andy and James Ward; and his sister Myrtle Watson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He remained very active up until being stricken with COVID in 2021.
