She is survived by: her husband William McKinley Cherry; her sons, Larry Copeland and Anthony Copeland (Angelia); her grandson Michael Copeland; her pet Coco; and her extended family, Lester, Nell Hood of Portsmouth, VA, David, Evelyn Dupree of Walstonburg, NC, Joyce, James Henderson, Jr. of New Bern, NC, Dana, Rogelio Harris, Sr. of Portsmouth, VA, Hazel Bell of Portsmouth, VA, Pearlina Brown of Portsmouth, VA and Diane Rabb. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, four godchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the J. T. Fisher Funeral Services (1248 George Washington Hwy N, Chesapeake, VA 23323). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the J. T. Fisher Funeral Services Chapel (1248 George Washington Hwy N, Chesapeake, VA 23323).
