It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Eric Nelson LCDR in Chesapeake, Virginia, born in Baraboo, Wisconsin, who passed away on July 4, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Sherman Nelson and Carita Clara Hilmes Nelson; and his brother Paul Nelson. He is survived by: his children, Scott Michael Nelson, Stephanie Lynn Nelson and Valerie Kay Nelson Smith; his grandchildren, Michael Nelson, Abigail Smith, Caroline Smith and Kyleigh Nelson; and his siblings, Ann Christine Stack, Mary Sloan, Rick Nelson, Dan Nelson and Bruce Nelson.
